In addition to three Hungarian inspectors – from the staff of the MoD Defence Policy Department and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade – a Danish guest inspector also participated in the evaluation visit conducted at the 6th Separate Mechanized Brigade in Grodno, 270 kilometers from Minsk near the Polish border.

Such inspections are aimed at verifying that the information provided to all OSCE Participating States on the armed forces of a given country are correct, and at obtaining a comprehensive picture of the designated military unit.

The evaluation visit started with a command brief, after which the inspectors were allowed to put questions without constraints to the members of the command group present. In what followed, they were introduced to the main military equipment of the brigade at a static display. The next venue of the visit was the hospital of the unit, after which they proceeded to the squad rooms of the conscripts, the various training establishments and the unit museum. In closing the inspection, the leader of the inspection team summarized the experiences and concluded that Belarus fully complies with the provisions of the Vienna Document.
