US Secretary of State met Defence Minister Tibor Benkő

Mike Pompeo, Secretary of State of the United States of America arrived on an official visit to Hungary on Monday, 11th February, beginning his tour of central European countries in the Hungarian capital. The head of the US diplomacy also met with Minister of Defence Tibor Benkő.

It was eight years ago that the Secretary of State of the United States last visited to Hungary, so the present visit shows that the Hungarian-American relations are working well.

During his visit to Hungary, Mike Pompeo conducted negotiations with Péter Szijjártó, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, and in the evening hours he met with Prime Minister Viktor Orbán.

In the afternoon hours the US Secretary of State discussed the current issues of security policy with Minister of Defence Tibor Benkő, and they also touched upon the area of defence co-operation.
