Szöveg: S.N. | 2012. június 15. 15:50The EUSEC RD Congo mission of the European Union has been deployed in the Democratic Republic of Congo since 2005 to provide advice and assistance for the defence reform of the Congolese Armed Forces (FARDC). The key areas of contribution are administration, logistics and information technology. In addition, the mission supports the military families as well, providing assistance within the CIMIC program for the families living in poverty.
After a long preparatory phase, the implementation of several CIMIC projects has recently started with the aims of upgrading the aid posts in three military camps and expanding the water pipeline network in the military camp of Bukavu.
There is another project in progress, namely the construction of a sheltered workshop where – according to plans – the military wives, the war invalids and the war orphans will have opportunity to participate in various training programs. Currently three training courses are scheduled to start: the first is a tailor and dressmaker course, the second is a soap-making one for all interested, while the third is a course for women, to be launched with the aim of combating widespread illiteracy.
