Szöveg: honvedelem.hu | 2017. június 20. 10:02The NATO International Senior Enlisted Symposium was recently held at the George C. Marshall Center in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany. Hungary was represented at the event by CSM István Kriston, the Command Sergeant Major of the Hungarian Defence Forces.
One of the highlighted topics of the symposium was illegal global migration and the related terrorism. Together with senior enlisted leaders from the Australian, French and Italian armed forces, CSM István Kriston held a presentation on the topic, providing the audience with a global picture of the present and future challenges to the given countries and the Alliance as well as the impacts of migration and terrorism.
Also on the agenda of the symposium were the current challenges faced by NATO and the Russian threat to the Alliance. The participants discussed the NATO NCO strategy, which was signed in 2010 by the Supreme Allied Commander Europe and the Allied Command Transformation Commander. They agreed that although NATO’s strategy provides recommended NCO guidelines for the member countries, these will attain their goal only if they become an integral part of the NCO training systems of the nations, which must be achieved in the interest of ensuring cooperation, the expected standard of NCO’s professional work and interoperability in operations involving the Alliance.
