Restored in 2014, the cemetery in downtown Pec/Peja (Western Kosovo) is the final resting place of those soldiers of the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy who fell in the First World War. Vera Fuchs, Chargé d’affaires at the Austrian embassy in Kosovo honored the event with her presence, and the Hungarian embassy in Kosovo was represented by chargé d’affaires Béla Bozsik, who also delivered a memorial speech. In what followed, Austrian contingent commander Wolfgang Weichselberger shared his thoughts with the people present.
Also in attendance were Deputy Defence Minister of Kosovo Muhamet Latifi and Gazmend Muhaxheri, the mayor of the town. The two laid wreaths by the memorial, besides the representatives of the embassies and the national contingent commanders.
The commemoration closed with the sounds of the Hungarian Last Post.
