Joint Serb–Hungarian Exercise in Vojvodina
Szöveg: honvedelem.hu / MTI | 2014. október 7. 9:00Between September 29 and October 2 a joint Serb–Hungarian exercise was held in Kovin, South Banat – the Serb armed forces wrote in a press release of Thursday, October 2.
Exercise Neighbours 2014 provided Hungarian and Serb troops with pre-deployment training for the United Nations Organisation (UN) -led missions. During the exercise, real-world situations of the peace operations in Cyprus and Lebanon were simulated. The soldiers practiced terrain survey, area control, medical evacuation (MEDEVAC) and forced and non-forced passage of checkpoints.
Col. László Garas, Force Planning Chief, HDF Joint Force Command attended the closing day of the exercise. He pointed out that joint exercises like the present one are important because they strengthen the friendly relations among Serb and Hungarian troops.
The exercise has been organized for the fifth time since 2010. This time, the training audience included 31 personnel from the Hungarian Defence Forces and 76 from the Serb armed forces. The Hungarian Defence Forces were represented on the exercise by soldiers of the 3rd “Miklós Bercsényi" Infantry Battalion of the HDF 5th “Bocskai István" Infantry Brigade.
