During the classroom lectures and field training practices, the 19 Jordanian soldiers attending the course learned about the techniques for detecting and identifying IEDs.

Lt. Balázs Kiss, Platoon Leader, C-IED Company, HDF 1st EOD and Warship Regiment gave a lecture about professional C-IED activities, and within it, the role of EOD technicians and the basics of bomb disposal. He introduced the training audience to the main tasks and capabilities of the unit, and also showed them how an IED can be defeated while reacting to an incident on a foreign mission.

Lt. Ádám Hargitai, Platoon Leader, Explosive Detector Dog (EDD) Company introduced the guest students to the task system of the company and the methods used in training the dogs. During a practical demo, the course participants saw an “obedience" show as well as the searching of packages and motor vehicles by the dog handlers and their canine companions.

The personnel performing the dynamic EOD demo responded to a fictitious IED incident, using a metal detector and two dog-handler EOD technicians to conduct a route clearance patrol. After finding the actual location of the IED, they neutralized it with the use of an EOD robot, and finally an EOD technician in a bomb suit collected the necessary “pieces of evidence".

During the static display of the HDF 1st EOD and Warship Regiment, the Jordanian soldiers saw various items of the special equipment such as bomb suits and EOD robots, video-endoscope, metal detector, blasting machine and the imitated explosive devices.
