Between June 18 and 21, the St. Margareth Logistic Information Training Exercise (Maglite) was organized for the 30th time by the National University of Public Service Military Science and Officer Training Faculty, Department of Military Logistics and the British Defence College of Logistics & Personnel Administration. The HDF NCO Academy (Szentendre) hosted the event for the third time.

Six instructors and some 30 officers attending the joint logistic operations course of the British Defence College of Logistics & Personnel Administration participated in the training exercise. Also present were the instructors of the Czech University of Defence, the officer students attending the military logistics MSc course of the National University of Public Service Military Science and Officer Training Faculty, the officer cadets of the Military Economics BSc course and the teaching staff of the Department of Military Logistics.

The objective of the multinational joint logistic exercise “Maglite" is to train the officers studying military logistics in the participating institutions for executing tasks in peace support operations and multinational staffs. The attendees of the training sessions were introduced to and practiced the decision-making processes of joint operations and the issues of cooperation with foreign officers.

In contrast with the exercises of previous years, rather than being assigned to an independent national syndicate, the Hungarian officers were executing the task in the British syndicates in cooperation with the British officers.

Brig.-Gen. A. J. Deas, the commandant of the Defence College of Logistics & Personnel Administration inspected the exercise. Brig.-Gen. Gábor Horváth, the commandant of the HDF NCO Academy held informal discussions with the British general.
