In his welcome speech, László Kaposvári pointed out that the changed circumstances and the current geopolitical situation urges all NATO and EU member countries to take quick decisions and joint action. Among these efforts, the cooperation of the V4 countries is of crucial significance.

The two-day event started with static displays and dynamic shows at the HDF Logistic Centre. On the second day of the meeting, the participants discussed the so far accomplished as well as current and planned logistic tasks, and also identified the possible fields of cooperation.

In his lecture, the chief of the HDF General Staff Logistic Directorate gave an overview of the tasks carried out together with the V4 countries, emphasizing the significance of Exercise Capable Logistician 2015, hosted by Hungary and organized by the Multinational Logistics Coordination Centre (MLCC), and also the so far accomplished and future tasks in setting up the V4 EU Battlegroup (V4 EUBG) and the Joint Logistics Support Command Headquarters (JLSG HQ) of the V4 countries.

The meeting continued with the presentation of national positions and a professional discussion. The J4 Chiefs agreed that the joint logistic programs and exercises must be carried on, of which Exercise Capable Logistician 2019 (CL19) – to be organized in Poland in the first half of 2019 – has outstanding importance. They also agreed to set up two expert working groups to be tasked with formulating the logistic concept of the V4 EUBG which will be on standby in the second half of 2019, and with working out the details of cooperation among experimental and analytic laboratories of the four countries. The Czech Republic has undertaken to organize the next V4J4 meeting in the first half of 2017.

The next item on the agenda of the meeting was a presentation about the tasks the Hungarian Defence Forces have so far carried out in the interest of handling the migration crisis.
