Zhang Youxia, Director of Equipment Development Department, Central Military Commission of the People’s Republic of China, and the delegation headed by him.
In the framework of Chinese–Hungarian cooperation, the delegation arrived for a three-day visit in Hungary to strengthen military diplomatic relations. The relationship between Hungary and China has been excellent for a long time, as the Southeastern Asian country is our key strategic partner, Minister of Defence Dr. István Simicskó said, adding that it is important that we maintain and further strengthen this relationship in the future too.
The two sides agreed that there are excellent opportunities for expanding the scope of bilateral military cooperation in fields such as military medicine, education or research and development. Besides the above, another new element of this expansion is the mutual participation in peacekeeping courses, which makes it possible to share our experiences as well. At their last meeting in Beijing in 2013, the Chinese and Hungarian defence ministers had already agreed on beginning a yearly dialogue between the two ministries of defence, and made a decision about inviting Chinese delegations to make goodwill or experience-gathering study tours in Hungary.
During the program, the delegation was given an insight into the functions of the Székesfehérvár-based HDF Joint Force Command and the MoD Electronics, Logistics and Property Management Co., where the visitors were introduced to the details of the development directions of the Hungarian defence industry.
