NATO Committees in Balatonkenese
Szöveg: Gábor Kálmánfi | 2015. október 19. 9:00Two NATO Committees are simultaneously discussing topics in logistics in the HDF Balatonkenese Recreation Centre (HDF BRC) between 13 and 16 October.
At the meeting of the Operational Logistics Support Partnership (OLSP) Committee of the NATO Support and Procurement Agency, the main item on the agenda is the logistic support of various projects of the Alliance and the European Union. The Hungarian Defence Forces have been participating in the OLSP program since 2009 so that they can provide the most effective logistic support for personnel serving in foreign missions.
Currently there are altogether seven programs in progress that involve Hungary. Logistic support means, for example, the setting up and/or continuous management of camps in the area of operations with the best possible use of available material resources. The program also offered a range of different vaccines available at the lowest price.
The other working group meeting in Balatonkenese, the NATO Petroleum Committee Petroleum Handling Equipment Working Group – as its name indicates – basically deals with the standardization of petroleum handling equipment and the regulations for this special field. It continuously explores possibilities for methods of standardization of procedures in the area of operations.
Last time this working group met in Hungary six years ago. The event was organized by the HDF Logistics Centre.
