The mission in Bosnia-Herzegovina has been operating in a rotational system for nearly a year, so the infantry company now takes over the task system of the Austrian peacekeepers of the Multinational Battalion (MNBN).
The 13th rotation of the HDF EUFOR Contingent is basically drawn from the HDF 37th “Ferenc Rákóczi II" Engineer Regiment of Szentes, which is primarily augmented by personnel drawn from the HDF 12th Arrabona SAM Regiment of Győr and a few soldiers from other military units. The official transfer of authority (TOA) ceremony was attended by EUFOR Chief of Staff Brig.-Gen. József Szpisják, Hungarian Senior National Representative, Lt.-Col. Péter Somogyi, the contingent commander of the outgoing 12th rotation, Capt. Imre Farkas, the commander of the Support Element responsible for the handover, Lt.-Col. Gábor Bartók, the commander of the new 13th rotation and the leaders of the contingents.
In his speech, József Szpisják thanked the members of the outgoing rotation for their work, pointing to their role in supporting the multinational exercise Quick Response 2013 in April this year. Then he thanked those soldiers who have given an outstanding professional performance. The senior national representative stressed that he expected the peacekeepers of the new rotation to do a successful job and develop good cooperation to the same high standards as those of the previous rotation.
