Headed by Rodger M. Jones, the delegation visiting Hungary first travelled to the HDF NCO Academy in Szentendre, where its members met Brig.-Gen. Tibor Bozó, the commandant of the academy. During the morning spent in the Görgey barracks, the senior enlisted leaders attended informative presentations on the functioning of the Hungarian Defence Forces and the NCO Academy as well as the possibilities and challenges of NCO training.

In what followed, the delegation attended a presentation on the history of NCO training in Hungary from the beginnings to the present day, which was held by two Hungarian NCO candidates currently enrolled on a two-year NCO day training course. The program of the delegation ended with an introduction to the work and equipment of the Military HQ of the Capital City Radio Amateur Club of Budapest, which is housed in the barracks.

A special feature of this year’s visit by the Ohio National Guard is that the four-member delegation is augmented with senior NCOs from the United States European Command (USEUCOM). The four-day program continued with a visit to the HDF 1st EOD and Warship Regiment. In the next days, the NCO delegation will visit the HDF units in Kecskemét and Szolnok, and the HDF Ludovika Battalion.
