The guests were received by MAT-3 Commander Col. István Juhász and HDF National Support Element – Afghanistan (NSE-A) Commander Lt.-Col. Béla Kerekes. During a one-hour friendly discussion, Col. Juhász gave a presentation about the present and future role of the Hungarian Defence Forces in Afghanistan, focusing on the work of the Military Advisory Team. He thanked the US coalition partner for its significant, yearslong, continuous high-level supply of motor and combat vehicles, weapons technology and CIS equipment in the theatre, and its support to common training.

Col. Sarat spoke highly of the Hungarian troops’ role and commitment. He assured those present that the United States continues to provide military equipment and support for training activities on the same level as in previous years, as long as Hungarian soldiers serve as part of the coalition forces in the theatre.

At the end of the short visit, apropos of the approaching end of the mission of the HDF MAT-3 and its redeployment to Hungary from the mission area, the DCOM TAAC-N thanked for the work done together, congratulated on the results and wished every success with the redeployment home. Col. Juhász also wished the TAAC-N every success in the execution of further tasks on the same high level, and awarded commemorative coins to the members of the delegation.
