Skill Retention Training for Hungarian Peacekeepers
Szöveg: Capt. Piroska Kozák | 2017. február 7. 9:00In the interest of retaining and developing earlier acquired skills, as part of the CBRN training, the soldiers of “D” Company in the 15th rotation of the HDF KFOR Contingent recently held a “gas chamber” practice.
Operating in the subordination of the KFOR Multinational Battle Group East Forward Command Post (MNBG-E FCP), “D" Company of the Hungarian peacekeeping contingent in Kosovo is assigned crowd riot control (CRC) tasks among its core duties. For this reason, the soldiers of the company must have appropriate skills in the use of the M93 mission-oriented protective posture (MOPP) gears and gas masks.
The Hungarian peacekeepers conducted the training session – which was aimed at retaining and brushing up on their skills – together with the CBRN personnel serving in the US staff of the FCP in Camp Slim Lines, Pristina.
After a dry run, the task was carried out with the use of tear gas grenades. These canisters send out gas that irritates the eyes and the airways. Each section spent one or two minutes in the chamber, during which they replaced the filters of the masks as well.
