Slovak–Hungarian Movement and Transportation Cooperation

The Slovak and Hungarian Movement and Transportation (M&T) organizations recently held a professional meeting in báró Hazai Samu barracks, Budapest.

The representatives of the Slovak military organization National Movement Coordination Centre visited the Hungarian Defence Forces Logistic Centre for the first time. The four-member Slovak delegation was headed by Col. Marek Banas. Brig.-Gen. István Baráth, Commander, HDF Logistic Centre welcomed the guests.

The two-day event was opened by Col. István Nyitrai, department head at the HDF Logistic Center. In his remarks, he noted that the organization, planning and support of M&T tasks for the international exercises Saber Guardian 2017, Brave Warrior 2017 and Training Bridge 2017 are major tasks for this year. At the M&T meeting, the two sides reviewed the road and rail transportation capacities of the two nations. They also discussed the regulations concerning road tax exemption for international cargo movement, the escort of military convoys, and the possibility of sharing airlift capabilities.
