The Commander of the HDF Logistics Centre Visited to the Czech Republic

The apropos of the visit was that similarly to the present year’s transformation of the Hungarian Defence Forces’ logistics system, the field of logistics of the Czech Armed Forces has also undergone thorough changes in this year. With combining the Logistics, the Communications and Information Systems and Military Medical Divisions within the General Staff the Division of Support was created. The Logistics, the Communications and Information Systems and Military Medical Agencies established after the termination of the Joint Forces Support Command operate in direct subordination of the Division.

During the discussion held with the representatives of the Division of Support, the Parties compared the national systems formed in the course of the reorganization process, and established that the transformations basically go into one direction, their objective being the unification and the centralization of the logistical support of the armed forces.

In the course of the visit at the Logistics Agency Brigadier General Baráth conducted talks with Brigadier General Dr. Jaromir Zuna, the Director of the Agency. They compared the structure and the task-system of the two organizations. In what follows they took a tour in the Maintenance and Repair Centre in Lazne Bohdanec, and the Foreign Operations and Extraordinary States’ Centre in Pardubice, both operating as parts of the Logistics Centre.

General Baráth inspected the 14th Logistic Support Regiment operating in subordination of the Land Forces Command, where he received a briefing on the structure and task-system of the regiment, then inspected the major technical equipment and capabilities of the unit.
