The General Has Been Introduced to the Tasks of the Military Advisory Team

Dr. Gábor Böröndi, Land Forces Chief, HDF Joint Force Command (HDF JFC) has recently been introduced on the spot to the tasks and working conditions of the HDF Military Advisory Team as well as to the partner units.

On his tour, General Böröndi was accompanied by US Defense Attaché Col. Mark Karas, Col. István Topor, Chief, HDF JFC Operations Control Directorate and Lt.-Col. Péter Gergely, desk officer.
The guests first received a report given by Col. Zoltán Bárány, contingent commander, then got into the MRAP vehicles of the MAT, which carried them to the headquarters of the mentored Afghan National Civil Order Police (ANCOP) 3rd Brigade. During the visit, they got introduced to the advisory personnel and the members of the close protection team (CPT), and had opportunity to learn about their skills while the personnel were executing their tasks in a live action.

Brig.-Gen. Naim Mir Haidary, the commander of the brigade received General Böröndi at the ANCOP headquarters. At their meeting, the two leaders spoke highly of recent achievements, and mutually assured each other of further cooperation. During their discussion, they paid special attention to the elections. After the meeting, the commander of the brigade introduced the equipment and capabilities of the unit.
Following the meeting which was held in a good atmosphere, the program continued with a technology display at Camp Marmal, the operational base of the MAT. Here the HDF JFC Land Forces Chief inspected the weapons and military equipment in use with the MAT which represent state-of-the-art technology currently available to the Hungarian land forces.
The day spent at the MAT was closed with an informal conversation with the soldiers.
