Without intending to be exhaustive, the competing teams included the Portuguese, the French, the Italian and the Romanian ones. The 37-7 goal ratio raised the Hungarian footballers above the mediocrity of the play.
The Hungarian soldiers entered the championship with remarkable commitment and persistence, displaying an unrelenting thirst for action besides performing their duties. They played the final with the Portuguese team, and there was no doubt about the result of the match after the first half. The composition of the team was as follows: Team captain Sándor L. and his deputy Miklós E., Balázs Sz. (goalkeeper), György Cs. and Ottó Sz. (backs), Péter M. and Tamás Cz. (midfield players), and the forwards who scored the goals – János Gy., Gergely K. and Zoltán S.
The champion team was presented with a memorial plaque and the team members received personal medals in recognition of their outstanding performance. The commander of the contingent, Col. László Benda awarded a strip to the team as a token of appreciation.
