Visit Through Professional Eyes
Szöveg: WO1 Zoltán Inoka | 2012. október 23. 9:49Col. (Eng.) Ferenc Kovács, the Chief of Staff at the NATO HQ Sarajevo recently paid an official visit – at the invitation of Maj.-Gen. Rizvo Pleh, the Operations Chief of the armed forces of Bosnia-Herzegovina – to the single ground-based air defence (GBAD) battalion of the BiH armed forces.
Lt.-Col. Hajrudin Bešić, the commander of the battalion was looking forward to the arrival of the Hungarian delegation because, as he said, this was the first time that a GBAD soldier from a NATO member state paid a visit to them – since Col. Ferenc Horváth is the commander of the Győr-based HDF 12th Arrabona Surface-to-Air Missile Regiment.
The program started with a briefing on the current capabilities and status of the Bosnian GBAD battalion, then Col. Kovács was shown the SA–6 (also known as KUB) and the BOFORS L–70 missile systems.
The Chief of Staff of the NATO HQ Sarajevo assured the battalion commander of his support, and stressed that he would do his best to achieve that the NATO Advisory Team (NAT) in Bosnia pay more attention to this branch of service in the near future.
