Weekend Football Championship in KFOR
Szöveg: HUN KFOR-15 | 2016. szeptember 15. 9:00The Luxembourgish and German contingents organized a multinational five-a-side championship among the nations stationed in Kosovo at the first weekend of September. A total of nine teams entered the tournament: two Luxembourgish, two German as well as two Hungarian, a Danish, an American and a Kosovan one.
The atmosphere was excellent during the first sporting event of the autumn season: both Hungarian teams performed well, but they did not make it to the final. The team of DELTA Company finished fourth, while the headquarters staff was placed fifth. Eventually, both Luxembourgish teams finished among the top three, but the winner was the German team, which marched all the way to victory during the tournament. The enthusiastic supporters at the games – the soldiers stationed in Camp Novo Selo – saw the matches being played with a very sportsmanlike attitude in the spirit of camaraderie.
