NATO Medals Awarded to Hungarian Soldiers in Kosovo

As the end of their six-month mission abroad is drawing near, at the end of March, NATO Medals were awarded to the Hungarian soldiers, serving in individual positions at the Headquarters of the Kosovo Force (KFOR). Major General Lorenzo D’Addario, the Commander of KFOR (COM KFOR) graced the ceremony with his appearance.

Major General D’Addario, as the Commander of the forces stationing in Kosovo, thanked everyone, and all participating NATO and non-NATO countries for their efforts made for the common goal, and for their commitment dedicated to KFOR. “Today’s event is very important, as it shows the unity, which is meant here, in Kosovo by NATO, where we work together on the preservation of peace" – Major General D’Addario stated.

Approaching the end of his second mission abroad, Lt.-Col. András Somlai-Kiss, as the Senior National Representative (SNR) highlighted that the Hungarian soldiers have worked and are working in the different areas of the KFOR Headquarters from the position of the staff director through logistics to air control. “With regard to the work carried out, we received recognitions from all nations, everybody is satisfied with the work of the Hungarian soldiers" – the Lieutenant Colonel pointed out.

NATO Non-Article 5 Medals were awarded at the present ceremony to nearly twenty Hungarian soldiers in addition to the soldiers of other nations.
