Thankfulness and Pride: Brigadier General’s Visit to Kosovo
Szöveg: Captain Piroska Kozák | 2018. december 26. 7:36On 12 December, Brigadier General Dr. Romulusz Ruszin paid a visit to the personnel of the 19th rotation of the HDF KFOR contingent (KFOR-19 HUNCON) in Camp Novo Selo. He was accompanied by Dr. Zsolt Tibor Lampé, the Director of the Kenézy Gyula Hospital and Polyclinic, Debrecen.
"Thankfulness and Pride" – Brigadier General Ruszin summed up the past few years with these two thoughts for his soldiers in his speech, because this was the last occasion he met the 39er soldiers serving in KFOR as the commander of the formation. Next January he continues his decades of service in a new position. In his reply speech the Commander of the Contingent Lieutenant Colonel Bálint Legoza said thanks to the Commander of the Brigade for the responsibility, care and the military example, with which he led the formation, and which meant a step forward in several fields for the soldiers of the 39th Infantry Battalion.
Promotions and recognitions were also presented during the staff meeting, but the Commander of the Brigade and the infantry soldiers were filled with the greatest pride at the awarding ceremony of the „Csengeri" cap badges. The former excellent 39er soldier, Mr. Imre Csengeri served as a non-commissioned officer at the predecessor of the battalion. The fire-and-manoeuvre team, fireteam and squad-level tactical exercise named after him is an extreme challenge, whose fulfilment requires a high-level physical and mental stamina, and only the soldiers well prepared for the task can follow through with it.
However, in his closing thoughts Brigadier General Dr. Romulusz Ruszin encouraged his soldiers to enter and fulfil the Csengeri, as that’s what makes an infantry soldier really worthy of the past of the 39th Infantry Battalion.
