As part of the Iraq role of the Hungarian Defence Forces, the 5th rotation of the HDF Iraqi Training Support Contingent is already deployed in Erbil, but there is little talk about those soldiers who serve as staff officers with Operation Inherent Resolve (OIR) in Kuwait.

Drawn from the HDF Logistic Centre, Colonel Attila Král has served on the staff of the Combined Joint Task Force – Operation Inherent Resolve Headquarters (CJTF OIR HQ) in Camp Arifjan. He was assigned, among others, the duties of the Hungarian national representative, the tasks of representing the national interest in the transformation processes of the HQ, the coordination of logistic planning processes, and the supervision of the logistic effort.

CJTF-OIR Commanding General LTG Paul E. Funk thanked Colonel Attila Král for his work on the occasion of completing his tour with the mission, presented him with the Joint Service Commendation Medal and wished him every success in attaining his further goals.

The CJTF-OIR troop contributing nations – among them, Hungary – are cooperating with Iraqi and Syrian forces in fighting the Islamic State in the interest of increasing regional stability, organizing the reconstruction and enabling the return home of the people of Iraq and Syria.
