21st Anniversary of German Reunification

On Tuesday, October 4, a wreath-laying ceremony was held in the garden of Stefánia Palace, Budapest to mark the Day of German Unity (October 3). The event took place by the memorial stone unveiled by Defence Minister Dr. Csaba Hende on the 20th anniversary of the German reunification in 2010. After the first free elections in Eastern Germany, the then Hungarian Defence Minister and his two German counterparts planted the two trees standing above the memorial.

The Day of Szolnok with Military Music

The 16th Regional Festival of Military Bands made a big hit in Szolnok, on Friday, September 2, as the bands making their appearances on the venue played both classical and light music pieces besides the usual military music. The festival by now marks the traditional opening ceremony of the program series of the Day of Szolnok. Lieutenant General Zoltán Orosz, the Deputy Chief of the MoD Defence Staff greeted the military bands and the spectators, and the Vice Mayor of the Town István Szabó opened the event.

As part of a three-day municipal program series, the 1st Regional Festival of Military Bands in Szentendre was organized and had a great success on Saturday, August 27. The event – held with a view to creating a tradition – featured three military bands, which presented their own musical programs and gave a joint concert.
