Col. Sándor Nagy, a Hungarian officer who has served with the European Union’s EUSEC RD Congo mission for the last four years, handed over his commander’s position and responsibilities to his successor, Col. Attila Král on April 21.

The Last Mission

The EUSEC advisory team deployed in the Congolese Province of South Kivu has two Hungarian members on its staff, Col. Sándor Nagy and Maj. Béla Lökösházi. Recently the team has started carrying out a highly important mission at the military units stationed in the region. The objective was to pave the way for a comprehensive inspection, so they visited the units (regiments) that will be involved in the joint FARDC–EUSEC operation to be launched at the end of April.
