First the deputy Head of Mission of EUSEC RD Congo arrived in Bukavu for a official visit,
which was primarily necessitated by the tense security situation. The two Hungarian advisors,
Col. Sándor Nagy and Maj. Béla Lökösházi gave a detailed briefing on the military and
security situation as well as the tasks for the recent period.

Col. De la Tour met the commander of the military district and the staff leaders, and paid a
visit to the military camp in the town as well, where several social projects were implemented
with the advisors’ support last year.

In what followed, an EU delegation arrived in Bukavu for a two-day visit. The two Hungarian
advisors gave the members of the delegation an in-depth insight into the military and security
situation in the province. They held discussions – in the presence of the Hungarian advisors
– with the provincial leader of the UN-led MONUSCO as well as the local leader of the EU
humanitarian organ (ECHO).
