Croatian Independence Celebrated in Cyprus

The Croatian soldiers serving in Sector Four of the UN Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus (UNFICYP) commemorated the 21st anniversary of Croatia’s independence at a ceremony held in Camp General Stefanik, Famagusta on June 25. The “Street of the Republic of Croatia” was inaugurated during the event.

Summer Medal Parade in Cyprus

The UNFICYP mission holds a medal parade twice every year, in line with the spring and autumn rotation schedules of the contingents. The UNFICYP Summer Medal Parade took place at the UNFICYP HQ in Nicosia on June 7, 2012.

March Rotation in Cyprus

The rotation of the UN Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus (UNFICYP) took place between March 22 and 29, involving 36 Hungarian and six Serb soldiers who have started their tour of duty within the Hungarian contingent in the insular country.

“Military Heptathlon” in Cyprus

The UN Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus (UNFICYP) organized a “military heptathlon” in Cyprus in the last days of November. The Slovak, Hungarian, Serb and Croatian troops formed two multinational teams to enter the “Military Skills Competition”; team “A” was placed first, while team “B” came in seventh.
