Hungarian Defence Forces reach halfway point of Baltic Air Policing mission

The Baltic Air Policing mission of the Hungarian Defence Forces is now halfway through. On 1 September 2015, the 39th rotation of the Baltic Air Policing took over from the Italian and Norwegian contingents the lead of the mission to protect the common airspace of the Baltic countries.

Today’s liberty is based on the values of 1956

As also laid down in the Fundamental Law of Hungary, “our current liberty was born of our 1956 Revolution”, Parliamentary State Secretary Tamás Vargha, Ministry of Defence said in his speech delivered at Plot No. 300 of the Rákoskeresztúr New Public Cemetery on 4th November, Hungary’s National Day of Mourning.

The agenda of the EU chiefs of defence meeting included crises in the east and the south as well as the issue of migration. The European Union Military Committee (EUMC) met at the level of chiefs of defence in Brussels on Wednesday and Thursday, 28–29 October 2015 in the spirit of preparing for the meetings of the European Council at the level of heads of states and governments and the defence ministers to be held in December.

Ministerial Visit to the Hungarian–Serbian Border Area

Conference of NATO Military Committee Is Held in Istanbul
