Air Assault Training at Várpalota
Szöveg: Péter Snoj | 2014. április 14. 9:00On Monday, April 7 the Dutch-led Exercise Várpalota Challenge 2014 continued with air assault training. 150 soldiers from the 11th Airmobile Brigade of the Royal Netherlands Army practiced landing with Chinook transport helicopters in hot landing zones.

The Chinooks, which are capable of carrying various vehicles, were escorted and supported by AH–64 Apache attack helicopters, until the soldiers finished unloading.
The exercise was like a real war movie scene
The two transport helicopters carried the 150 soldiers – who had embarked the Chinooks in Pápa – in several turns to the Várpalota military training area.
Besides the air assault troops, the heavy-lift helicopters taking off at HDF Pápa Air Base delivered several reconnaissance vehicles as underslung loads.
