Chief of Defence Visits Kosovo
Szöveg: WO Sándor Koós | 2015. december 18. 9:00Hungarian Chief of Defence Gen. Dr. Tibor Benkő paid a two-day visit to Kosovo on 14–15 December.
While at the KFOR HQ, Gen. Dr. Tibor Benkő met the Hungarian soldiers serving there in individual positions. In what followed, the Chief of Defence visited the renovated Hungarian House.
On the second day of his visit, Gen. Benkő met with Commander KFOR (COMKFOR) Maj.-Gen. Gugliemo Luigi Miglietta, and then, in Camp Novo Selo, Lt.-Col. Attila Enyedi reported to him on the tasks that have so far been executed by the Hungarian contingent. The commanders of KFOR Multinational Battle Group East (MNBG-East) and the KFOR Tactical Reserve Manoeuvre Battalion (KTM) also attended the meeting, during which Gen. Benkő held discussions with Battle Group Commander Col. Vernon H. Simpson and Battalion Commander Lt.-Col. Carlos Abílio Cavacas Macieira.
After being shown round in the camp, at the end of the visit the Chief of Defence held a staff meeting for Hungarian peacekeepers. He informed the troops on foreign mission about some current issues, and then symbolically handed over to the contingent commander the Christmas gift packs sent by children participating in the program of Honvédsuli Egyesület (Military School Association).
