As part of an American-Hungarian bilateral military agreement, the cadets, visiting our country for the fourth time, spend three weeks at Hungary’s different military units, the first station of which is the HDF Ludovika Battalion. The focus was on the cultural programs even right on the days following their arrival. After visiting the Parliament they familiarized themselves with the colourful history of Budapest in a sight-seeing tour guided round the World Heritage Sites of the capital.

The American students found a common voice with the Honvéd officer cadets of the HDF Ludovika Battalion at the very first meeting, in the centre of which stood the lectures presenting the officer training of each other’s defence forces. The students of the two countries already arrived together for the visit to the HDF Institute and Museum of Military History, where they could learn about the Hungarian and the related universal military history in a detailed guided tour, then they viewed the superb changing of the guard of the 32nd National Honvéd Honour Guard, HDF vitéz Szurmay Sándor Budapest Garrison Brigade. The American cadets and the Honvéd Officer Cadets taking part in the program, laid wreaths at the Memorial of the Unsung Heroes in the Orczy Park.

After visiting Budapest, the 33-member American group travelled to Csopak, where the series of events continued with horse-riding and an excursion to the Balaton Uplands, having a unique attraction, even among the European sites of natural beauty.
