Defence Minister Dr. Tibor Benkő met the Czech Defence Minister

As a member of the Prime Minister’s delegation, Defence Minister Dr. Tibor Benkő paid an official visit to Prague together with Prime Minister Dr. Viktor Orbán, Minister of the Prime Minister’s Office, Gergely Gulyás, and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szíjjártó, on Friday, 30th November.

The Minister met his Czech partner, Minister of Defence Mr. Lubomir Metnar. The Ministers held consultations on several themes, and touched upon the dynamically developing defence co-operation between Czechia and Hungary, and as an example for this, they mentioned the Agreement, which was signed in March this year by the Česká Zbrojovka Arms Factory and the MoD Arzenál Zrt. Under the licensing agreement the assembling of the infantry weapons could be started, and their manufacture can also be launched as from January 2019.

During the discussion the Minister of Defence underlined that in the area of the military to military relations Czechia is an important strategic partner of Hungary. Accordingly, they have also spoken about the possibilities of the further development of the excellent co-operation.
