Lieutenant Colonel Gábor Farkas, the Commander of the Contingent embarking on their mission abroad, reported that close to four hundred troops successfully completed the preparation, and they are ready to begin their tour of duty in the Balkans. Receiving the report, Colonel Gábor Lőrincz, the Commander of the Brigade, pointed out in his speech that those who might think that the KFOR mission is a routine task, are wrong. “The Balkans is the powder keg of Europe. It is in the essential interests of the Government, the Ministry of Defence and the Hungarian Defence Forces to keep the fragile peace built out there. I expect you to complete these six months up to the Hungarian soldiers’ reputation, also setting yourself individual targets" – the Commander underlined.

He added that following the lessons learned in his own missions to pay attention to each other and to integrate the soldiers coming from other units are of vital importance. Colonel Gábor Lőrincz highlighted that he will regularly visit the soldiers on mission abroad. On behalf of the departing personnel PFC Gergő Rákos said thanks to the superiors and the relatives for guaranteeing all the conditions for the successful preparation.

During the farewell ceremony the wooden head statue depicting Klapka György of Lance Coroporal Béla Körmendi was unveiled, which was presented to the unit by the soldier.
