Hungarian Victory at the Parachute World Cup

The first edition in the Parachute World Cup series 2016 season took place in Rijeka, Croatia between 10–12 June. Fourteen teams comprising altogether 106 athletes from 21 nations entered the accuracy landing competition.

The Hungarian team HUNGARY CISM was placed first at the competition. The Czech and Slovenian teams finished second and third respectively. During the individual accuracy landing event, Capt. Tamás Bánszki, parachute rigger team leader in the maintenance squadron at the HDF 59th Szentgyörgyi Dezső Air Base also finished first, with a dead center of only 2cm in five jumps.

The composition of the Hungarian team was as follows: Tamás Bánszki, Szabolcs Gál, Gábor Hirschler, Tamás Varga and István Asztalos. All of the above parachutists are athletes of the Szolnok Military Parachute Sport Club. This year the six editions of the Parachute World Cup series will be held in six countries.
