A one-week course recently finished at the HDF NCO Academy. The professional course was special because the Hungarian students were taught by a British instructor from the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst. The closing ceremony was also attended by Iain Lindsay, the Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Hungary.

The course entitled “Counter Insurgency Operations" (COIN) illuminated the ways of thinking and procedures that the British armed forces have developed on the basis of their own experience. The British instructor of the academy used case studies to explain the problems of asymmetric warfare and the possible solutions to them.

Running between 31 July and 4 August, this course is the fifth one held by the famous British military academy at the HDF NCO Academy. Speaking at the closing ceremony of the course, British Ambassador Iain Lindsay expressed pleasure at seeing the large number of Hungarian participants. He noted that cooperation in education is a very important part of the military-to-military relations between our countries. He added that the United Kingdom considers Hungary an important NATO ally, and for this reason, he is especially pleased to know that there is a continuous exchange of experience between British instructors and Hungarian students.
