The mission of the sixth rotation of the HDF KFOR Contingent (KFOR-6 HUNCON) is nearing completion. By tradition, the peacekeepers finishing their service abroad recently received the NATO medals in recognition of their six-month work at a joint medal parade, which was held for the soldiers of the two nations in the Portuguese–Hungarian Camp Slim Lines, Pristina.

Lóránt Balla, Hungary’s ambassador to Kosovo and Maj-Gen. Erhard Drews, the commander of KFOR also attended the ceremony. The COMKFOR thanked the Hungarian and Portuguese troops for having done an outstanding job in the area of operations.

Lóránt Balla, Lt.-Col. József Györei, Senior National Representative and Lt.-Col. András Polyák, the commander of the contingent presented the NATO medals to the soldiers. In recognition of their six-month work, some Hungarian peacekeepers received the NATO medals personally from Maj.-Gen. Erhard Drews.

The sixth rotation of the HDF KFOR Contingent started executing its tasks in the area of operations on February 10. Its tour of duty in Kosovo will end on August 28.
