Regional Training Chiefs Conference in Budapest, Hungary

A Training Chiefs’ conference of the Visegrad Group (V4) and Central European Defence Cooperation (CEDC) countries is organized first time in Budapest by the Hungarian General Staff Training Directorate between 4 and 6 February 2014.

Training Chiefs’ conference of the Visegrad Group and Central European Defence Cooperation countries

At this professional meeting, the training chiefs of Austria, Czech Republic, Croatia, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia and Hungary consult on actual issues of regional education and training as sharing capabilities and making closer and more efficient cooperation in the future.

The meeting aims at a close military cooperation and a common thinking through developing mutual professional military skills and strengthening good-neighborly relations among Central European nations. Sharing military capabilities and running common education and training can ensure and support the high level, efficient and professional preparation, the harmonization of the requirements to the allied standards and to the challenges of the security environment as well.

Participants of the meeting discuss the future tasks of more effective cooperation in the field of training

One of the main themes of this meeting includes the common preparation and training for the V4 EU Battle Group’s certification exercise in 2015 and, in the framework of NATO Connected Forces Initiative (CFI), for the NATO high visibility NRF exercise, TRIDENT JUNCTURE 2015. The further highlighted themes of the meeting are the introduction and the offer of dedicated Hungarian military training capabilities, exercises and training-shooting ranges, and plus, a proposal of developing a regional Training Catalogue for enhancing regional (V4-CEDC) cooperation.
