On June 19, British CBRN defence personnel paid a visit to the HDF 93rd ‘Petőfi Sándor’ CBRN Defence Battalion in Székesfehérvár. While in the Csörlőház military training area of the HDF Bakony Combat Training Center, the CBRN defence senior officers of the British Royal Air Force (RAF) watched the static and dynamic displays of a CBRN recce platoon declared to the 2013 rotation of the NATO Response Force (NRF).

Lt.-Col. (Eng.) János Miklovich, the commander-in-charge of the unit received the guests in the barracks of Székesfehérvár and informed them about the structure, mission and task system of the battalion. In what followed, the delegation went to the military training area in the Bakony Hills to see the capabilities of the Hungarian CBRN recce forces.

During the displays, the soldiers were wearing their quite sweaty NBC suits in the sweltering heat. The British officers looked at the CBRN recce equipment of the battalion, and requested information about the technical specifications. Afterwards, they went to watch the topics of the dynamic display which included route reconnaissance, the fielding of observation posts (OPs) for surveillance of chemical and radiological threats and the reconnoitering of a contaminated terrain sector. The guests tried out the VSBTR-80 CBRN recce combat vehicle on a ride after the displays.

At the end of the display, Col. David Williams addressed the participants on behalf of the 2013 NATO Response Force. He said he was satisfied to see that the personnel of the CBRN Defence Battalion of Székesfehérvár are ready and able to execute their assigned tasks.
