Change of Mentors in Kabul

The time of change has arrived again in the life of the HDF CSS Logistic Mentor Team (HLMT) stationing in Kabul, Afghanistan. The seventh rotation led by Contingent Commander Major László Novák accomplished their task on the area of operation, and has passed on the torch to the eighth rotation led by Major László Papp in the recent days.

In the process of change, the members of the seventh rotation imparted their experiences acquired about mentoring to the new arrivals in the area of operation (AO). Besides, they informed the members of the eighth rotation about the tasks underway, the events going on in the theatre and in the town, and about the security situation. Of course, they also carried out the training exercises prescribed in the theatre of operation.

The Commanders of the two Hungarian Contingents and the Commander of the GAFTAG

The soldiers of the new Contingent introduced themselves to the personnel and command of GAFTAG (German Armed Forces Technical Advisory Group), as this Contingent discharges duties under German leadership. GAFTAG Commander Colonel Georg V. Harling thanked the Contingent ending their mission for their work. He stressed, that he very much appreciates the high-level professional expertise and preparedness of the Hungarian soldiers. He wished every success to the soldiers just starting their mission in the tasks lying ahead of them.

The Commander of the Afghan National Army Combat Service Support School (ANA CSS School), Basic Logistic Training Lieutenant Colonel Mohammad Salim also bid farewell to the Hungarian soldiers leaving for home. He emphasised the valuable contribution of the Hungarians in the performance and development of the school’s training tasks.
