The commander of the joint US–Hungarian OMLT, Lt.-Col. László Fábián and his deputy, Lt.-Col. George D. Henderson were invited to the conference, which provided an opportunity for the commanders of the Hungarian, German and US troops serving in Baghlan Province to brief the outgoing general on the results and lessons learned during the operations they have conducted so far, and to report their ideas for the next period.
In his assessment, the ISAF RC N commander pointed to the importance of coordinated operations. He added that compared with other provinces in the region, Baghlan Province is above the average in this respect. ISAF should carry on the coordinated operations lest the insurgent can feel they have no pressure on them anymore, Maj.-Gen. Markus Kneip said.
The 11th rotation of the HUN PRT contingent is serving as Hungary’s ambassador under the flag of the ISAF Regional Command-North, the commander of the region pointed out. In his closing remarks, the general reiterated that the HUN PRT is widely recognized.
