Commander’s Conference in Camp Pannonia

On February 8 Camp Pannonia hosted a commander’s conference. Col. Dr. Romulusz Ruszin, the commander of the 11th rotation of the HDF Provincial Reconstruction Team (HUN PRT-11) received in the Hungarian camp Maj.-Gen. Markus Kneip, the commander of ISAF Regional Command North (ISAF RC N), who held a commander’s conference.

Half Marathon at the PRT: 34 Laps, 21,097 Meters, 1 Hour 26 Minutes

Life has sped up in Camp Pannonia, Afghanistan for those who entered the half marathon running race. The local circumstances delimited the possibilities, so the entrants covered the half marathon distance by running the so-called “camp lap” (630 meters with 10 meters of height difference) several times.

PRT Donates Two Containers

The troops serving with the 11th rotation of the HDF Provincial Reconstruction Team (HUN PRT-11) recently donated containers to the Afghan people on two occasions. On January 23 Lt.-Col. István Megtért, the deputy commander of the contingent handed over a containerized housing unit (CHU) at a ceremony in Burka, whereas on January 24 Chief of Staff Lt.-Col. Lajos Nagy ceremonially donated a storage container in Pol-e Khomri.

Cooperating with the Neighbors

Col. Dr. Romulusz Ruszin, the commander of the 11th contingent of the HDF Provincial Reconstruction Team (HUN PRT-11) received in Camp Pannonia a group of leaders arriving from the New Zealand PRT, Bamyan Province. The head of the delegation was Richard Prendergast, the director of the New Zealand PRT, while the troops were represented by a group of three led by Lt.-Col. Brett Wellington.

Going on the Right Road in the Right Direction

Another project has recently been completed in Baghlan Province, Afghanistan. Col. Dr. Romulusz Ruszin, the commander of the 11th contingent of the HDF Provincial Reconstruction Team (HUN PRT-11) handed over a new, 13-km section of the Jownaw road at a ceremony on January 21, in the presence of Gen. Asadullah Sherzad, the police chief of Baghlan Province, deputy shura leader Asadullah Shabaz, community leader Mullah Alam and Naoria Hauidi, a provincial shura member.

Vocational Training for People of Andarab Valley

On January 7 the CIMIC cell of the HDF Provincial Reconstruction Team (HUN PRT-11) delivered different kinds of timber to Andarab Valley, Afghanistan, together with the tools for working with them. All these things are needed for a course which is scheduled to start in February.
