Continuous Challenge

“Common Challenge-15” has ended; the objective of the exercise running between 13–20 November was to train the V4 EU Battle Group (V4 EUBG) of the Visegrád Four countries, together with Ukrainian troops, for the stand-by period which is due in the first half of 2016.

On the training conducted in Szczecin and Drawsko Pomorskie (Poland), the tactical-level staff and executive elements of the declared forces were getting ready to respond to potential challenges emerging in the EU environment, whereas the personnel of the operational headquarters (OHQ) were training in Krakow, Poland.

During the Polish accreditation of the Krakow OHQ, the Visegrád Four countries signed a technical agreement on providing administrative material and technical support for the stand-by period. At the event held on 18 November, the Hungarian Defence Forces were represented by Brig.-Gen. István Baráth, the Commander of the HDF Logistics Centre.

Altogether 161 personnel represented Hungary and the Hungarian Defence Forces on the regional cooperative exercise, which was being conducted on two sites.
