COS EUFOR attends Armed Forces of BiH Distinguished Visitors Display Day
Szöveg: honvedelem.hu / euforbih.org | 2013. október 16. 10:01On 8 October 2013 the Chief of Staff (COS) of EUFOR, Brigadier General József SZPISJÁK attended the Armed Forces of BiH (AF BiH) Distinguished Visitors Day (DVD) for Exercise Dynamic Response. The aim of the DVD for Exercise Dynamic Response 13-4 which was held at the Manjaca training range near Banja Luka, was to test and improve the operational capability of BiH Armed Forces commands and units.
The Exercise took place in three parts and started on 29 September with a simulation exercise of the brigade command and was followed by field exercises with the battalion battle group and situational live fire exercise. The second phase saw the fourth Infantry Brigade, supported by other units to realize this exercise in line with NATO standards. The commander of the brigade, Brigadier General Tomo Kolenda said he was “very pleased with the successful response of the brigade to a set mission", he stressed the importance of interoperability of AF BiH units so that they can be recognized as a serious partner in NATO peace-support operations.
The visitors’ day at Manjaca training range enabled situational awareness exercises to be held with live ammunition fired from 122 mm howitzers, 120 and 60 millimeters mortars, 64 millimeters rocket propelled grenades, and infantry weapons. This final live fire element from the combat brigade was also attended by Deputy Chief of the Joint Staff of the AF BiH for operations, Brigadier General Mirko Tepsic, and the Commander of the AF BiH Operational Command, Brigadier General Dragan Vukovic.
