In accordance with the entry rules, the soldiers undertaking the 25 or 40 km marches had to cover the distances carrying a 10kg weight, which included weapon, body armor and helmet as well.
In spite of the cold weather and the large amount of snow that fell in recent weeks, more than 900 soldiers entered the march on the two days. 1st Lt. Zsófia Koncz, a servicewoman of the HDF 25th Klapka György Infantry Brigade achieved outstanding results as she came in first on both occasions in the women’s category on the 40km distance. She completed the march first in 5hours 17minutes, and one week later in 4 hours 27 minutes.
Among the Hungarian soldiers undertaking to cover the 25km distance, the first to come in was CW2 Árpád Virincsik, another soldier serving with the HDF 25th Klapka György Infantry Brigade.
Altogether 38 Hungarian soldiers participated in the two days of the Dancon March.
