The two leaders discussed the security situation in the Black Sea region, where Russia’s military build-up is a cause for concern. Ms. Gottemoeller praised Romania for its contributions to the Alliance and highlighted NATO’s plans to increase its presence in the Black Sea region, with a Romanian-led multinational framework brigade on land and additional measures in the air and at sea.
