After a two-month pre-deployment training in Hungary, the members of the 11th rotation of the HDF National Support Element (HUN NSE) deployed to the area of operations at Mazar-e Sharif base (Camp Marmal) in Afghanistan in mid-May.

The incoming troops had complex tasks from the beginning, as they had to learn the procedures and regulations of the camp and the rules of traffic and movement, and took practical training sessions besides starting to take over material stocks, positions and responsibilities.

The outgoing personnel were awaiting their successors on a high professional level. After the handover of the tasks, their feeling of satisfaction with the results and missions accomplished over the last six months gave way to the wait for return home and the excitement of meeting their families.

The members of the incoming rotation continue to do their best in order to provide full-scale logistic support for the contingents of the Hungarian Defence Forces serving in the Afghanistan theatre and integrated into the Resolute Support Mission (RSM), and for Hungarian soldiers serving in individual positions.

The change of command ceremony of the National Support Element took place on June 1. The outgoing commander, Lt.-Col. István Nyitrai wished the troops of the 11th rotation every success and good luck. The incoming commander, Lt.-Col. Zoltán Török spoke about the work of the recent period with appreciation, and thanked the personnel for the preparations that make it possible to successfully execute the further tasks. At the end of the ceremony, the two commanders signed a record of transfer.
