EU Diplomats Visit EUFOR

The diplomats belong to the European Union’s Working Party on the Western Balkans Region (COWEB). They were welcomed to Camp Butmir by the EUFOR Chief of Staff Brigadier General Ernő Péter Siposs.
General Siposs apprised the diplomats of the current security situation in BiH and how EUFOR is supporting BiH authorities in maintaining a Safe and Secure Environment in BiH. General Siposs also explained that as the security situation in BiH has improved; EUFOR’s main effort has now moved to capacity building by providing co-ordinated training and advice to the BiH Armed Forces.
EUFOR’s Multi-National Battalion and Air Operations Branch also gave the diplomats a demonstration of some of their capabilities including an airborne medical evacuation using one of its helicopters.
