Exam Nerves

The only university in the area of responsibility of the HDF Provincial Reconstruction Team (HUN PRT) is located in Pol-e Khumri, the capital of Baghlan Province. The institution has some 2,500 students who study in four or six semesters and graduate after taking a successful final examination.

The day of the exam began with a ceremony in the grand hall that had been renovated with assistance from the HUN PRT. “Apart from equipping students with high qualification, the university symbolizes the hope of a brighter future for Afghanistan", Lt.-Col. Norbert Kerezsy, the deputy commander started his opening speech. “Supporting education has always been a priority among the development projects of the HUN PRT. The university produces even more graduates for the country who are educated and well-qualified. The high qualification gives this young generation a chance to lead Afghanistan on the path of peace and opportunity", the lieutenant-colonel pointed out.

After the ceremony the students went to the courtyard by classes and received the exam test papers at the benches under the shady trees. “The university students are taking exams in biology, chemistry, literature, English and religion", the teacher handing out the test papers told the guests.
