Exercise Vigorous Warrior To Be Organized This Year Too
Szöveg: honvedelem.hu | 2017. február 18. 10:44Organized by the NATO Center of Excellence for Military Medicine (MILMED COE) Exercise Vigorous Warrior (VW) will take place in September for the fourth time.
This time a numerous multinational exercise directing staff and a large number of training
audience will come together in the Lehnin training area near Berlin, led by the Joint Medical
Service of the Bundeswehr to demonstrate the applicability of multinational solutions in
military medicine, test the doctrines and ideas developed by the NATO MILMED COE and
the NATO medical community and to provide data for further research.
The main objective of VW ‘17 is to exercise and evaluate the applicability of the medical
support system of the Alliance in the event of an Article 5 operation, including a medical
response to a possible biological contingency, civil-military cooperation in the field of
medicine and the deployability of multinational medical capabilities.
The main planning conference of the exercise, to be held in Budapest between 13 and 17
February, will finalize the so far 22 nations’ applications to participate.
VW exercises have been held every second year since 2011. For the first time, the host nation
was Hungary (Várpalota and Budapest), then Germany in 2013 (Feldkirchen) and the Czech
Republic (Hradec Kralove) in 2015.
